Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 - Heavier Yet US Tour
Seun Kuti, Nigerian musician and activist, is the youngest son of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti. As leader of Fela's former band, Egypt 80, Seun has continued his father's legacy both musically and politically. Taking the helm of Egypt 80 after Fela's death in 1997, he has championed causes like #OccupyNigeria and #EndSARS, and revived his father's political party, the Movement of the People (M.O.P.).
Seun’s new album, Heavier Yet (Lays The Crownless Head), drops on October 4th via Record Kicks. Executive produced by Lenny Kravitz and Fela’s original engineer Sodi Marciszewer, the album features Damian Marley and Sampa The Great. It follows his Grammy-nominated Black Times (2018) and marks a major moment in his evolution as an artist. Early singles include DEY (featuring Damian Marley), T.O.P., and Stand Well Well.
Seun's discography includes Many Things (2008), From Africa with Fury: Rise (2011), A Long Way Beginning (2014), and Black Times (2018), along with several EPs. He has collaborated with artists like Black Thought, Janelle Monáe, Talib Kweli, Madlib, and Vic Mensa.
