Vivian Green - 7/27 at 6:30pm
Born in Philadelphia, Vivian Green was immersed in Motown classics from an early age, thanks to her music-loving parents. Singing at five, playing piano at eight, and writing songs at eleven, she knew by thirteen that she wanted a professional singing career. Despite her parents' reservations, she pursued music relentlessly, recording at Boyz II Men's studio at fifteen and earning her first songwriting credit at seventeen. With a mature voice and talent beyond her years, she performed in jazz clubs and sang with top orchestras and artists like Jill Scott.
Teaming up with Eric Roberson, Green's demo caught Sony Music's attention, leading to her debut album "A Love Story," which went Gold. Her second album, "Vivian," produced a number one hit and earned praise from critics. Green also ventured into acting, appearing in films and TV shows, and wrote songs for stage plays and albums of renowned artists.
Green is not only dedicated to her music but also to advocacy. She is an advocate for children with special needs and launched her #IamDifferentIamHuman PSA campaign alongside the release of her album "Vivid." Despite challenges, including her son's health issues, Green persevered, ensuring her legacy in soul music endures through music straight from her heart.
